Job: ColdFusion Developer - London
We are looking for a CFML (ColdFusion/Railo) developer to work in the rough and tumble world of a start up environment to be an integral part of our team to help us reach the next stages of our growing business. This is an exciting opportunity to be coming in at this early stage to help us build and guide the product. Initially we would be looking for a contractor who would then join us full time. The following is a list of skills and experience that we are ideally looking for:
Technical Skills:
- In-depth CFML (ColdFusion/Railo), Javascript & jQuery, CSS and XHTML knowledge.
- Web/Graphic design skills are essential.
- Demonstrated experience with CSS, JavaScript and XHTML.
- Skills to create gracefully degrading, compliant and accessible web pages is required.
- Must have proven web application development experience.
- Knowledge of MVC separations is important.
- Must have knowledge of the MachII and ColdSpring frameworks and component (CFC) based development skills.
- Strong database knowledge is required, preferably MySQL.
- Must have experience in Version Control Systems namely Subversion.
- Must have a solid understanding and skill in advanced JavaScript techniques and practices (e.g. AJAX, Object-Orientated JavaScript).
- Would preferably have an understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) cycle.
- Prior experience of the jQuery JavaScript library is essential.
- In depth knowledge of object-orientated programming, object inheritance and knowledge of design patterns and anti-patterns is desirable.
- Knowledge of integrating and writing web services and APIs, handling XML and JSON data is desirable.
- Exposure to N-Tier Application Architectures is useful.
- Knowledge of stored procedures, views, triggers and database modelling and design is useful.
- Knowledge of SQL injection and XSS prevention techniques are useful.
- Knowledge of managing a website through Apache and Resin would be useful.
- Some experience of using and configuring Linux servers desirable.
Knowledge / Experience / Other:
- Educated to degree level in a Computer Science with 3+ years experience, or have 5+ years experience.
- Have the ability to analyse, design, prototype and implement database driven Web applications.
- Have a thorough understanding of the agile development process and internet technologies.
- Strong written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Able to take ownership of a project from start to finish.
- Proven ability to learn new technologies and software quickly.
- Proactive, resourceful, detail-oriented and professional, with solid organisation and "multi-tasking skills".
- Ability to operate effectively in a challenging, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver to varied deadlines.
- Participate in the architecture, design and development of core components, new features and enhancements.
- A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.
Location: Initially home based with weekly meetings with the Project Manager in London.
